I'll admit I was a little nervous about his return -- I have more faith in the Mercury capsules than I do in the hunk of junk we call the space shuttle -- but Clay Anderson and the Discovery crew made it home safely yesterday. Good job, Clay! Anderson had been in orbit for 152 days. Look for a hero's welcome when he makes it back to Nebraska. It would be cool if he could make it to Saturday's football game, but that's probably too soon.

Clayton who? Never heard of this guy ... is he from Nebraska?
Heh. Dave K, are you saying the media didn’t cover this like they should have? 😉
Yeah. You’d think an astronaut being from Nebraska would warrant constant print, TV, and radio attention. I guess I don’t understand Lincoln media like I thought I did.
There were two stories on the 5th and one each on the 6th and 7th regarding Mr. Anderson. I also remember stories when he went up, and some more that LJS search won’t find regarding his time in orbit. Google also turns up other features with this: “lincoln journal star” “clayton anderson” astronaut
I thought it had quite a bit of local coverage. He’s from my hometown though, so I paid more attention than the average reader/viewer.
The uninitiated and the otherwise distracted might want to take a look at Dave K’s comments from a less-than-straightforward perspective…
