Water Water Water Water Water Water Water

By: Mr. Wilson on May 7, 2007
This isn't the wettest I've seen Lincoln -- that distinction belongs to the time several years back that the softball fields at Holmes Lake were all underwater -- but it's still pretty darn wet. The Wilson basement survived more or less unscathed, though we did have a little water. Nothing the dehumidifier couldn't handle. How many of you dealt with flooded basements this weekend? Cars? Businesses? Any good war stories?

my friend cussed at me cuz I had not a drop of water leak into my basement.

Although I did not feel all that safe when I saw the salt creek a few blocks away really full.

Yes I have to have flood insurance.

Times like this I’m REALLY glad I was outbid on our first choice house- which was in the middle of a floodplain.

We’ve had a small roofleak, it’s something we’ve known about and really need to get fixed.

I replace the drip bucket at my office with a larger, seven-gallon wastebasket on Saturday.  I dumped four gallons on Sunday ; but thankfully, everything else is still dry.

Crap… meant “replaced.”  (I have the day off today, and it appears my grammar does, too.)

It’s ok, I’m having a bad sentence day. Which is bad, I have an article to turn in soon.
