Two Lincolnite Meet-Ups This Week

- On Wednesday we will be having recess at the new Starship Memorial Adult Playground (aka the ugly parking lot at 14th and Q). Bring your jump rope, your bouncy balls, and your sneakers and join us for a little goofy recreation. Time is TBA, but let's plan on meeting around Noon.
- On Thursday we will be meeting at Ribfest for a little finger-lickin' goodness. Again, time is TBA, but figure on meeting around Noon.

See what your friends and neighbors have to say about this.
Noon is good for me.
Long jump ropes are surprisingly hard to find. I have just plain rope, though. And bubbles. And a ball. (pink, it was the last one).
I hope it rains before and then stops- puddles would be nice to splash in.
are cars parking in the lot currently?
cranberry juice does not stain around my mouth as good as I thought it would.
If you want a great Kool-Aid mustache.. lick Jello straight from the package. Guaranteed ruby lips.
No cars as of yesterday. If there are cars there, we can play around them- I got one of those lightweight balls that won’t damage anything. Someone’s bringing sidewalk chalk, right?
I am gonna grab some tonight
I saw a jump rope that has sidewalk chalk in the handles, so cool.
I think Sarah said she had some as well.
Gonna bring a change of clothes.
Gonna bring a change of clothes.
So about that Downtown shower facility we talked about a couple weeks ago…
I just snagged a couple nifty “Nebraska Engineering” <strike>frisbees</strike> flying disks.
Ahh….here I sit, with bubbles, and “flying disks” and roller skates, and jump ropes, chalk, balls, gloves, and other stuff in my basement (I never grew up), but I can’t come out to play on Wednesday. Gotta get my kid to school for orientation/registration.
Have fun!
Darn, Diane! Hopefully we’ll have another one sometime. 😊
I didn’t even think about roller skates! Hmmmm….. Too bad there’s not enough room for kites.
Most of my friends say “it’s too hot out” - wussies. I’ll just have to taunt them “neener neener neener”
I just went by the parking lot, and it’s still empty, but it has those ominous orange cones around it.
I talked to our church people and they were more interested in the downtown shower facility than I expected them to be.
We discussed opening it up to bike commuters, but recess-go’ers would be more than welcome to give it a shot.
There are noon basketball leagues using the gym during the week, but that wouldn’t prevent you from using the shower facilities.
If anyone is interested, let me know and I’ll make sure it’s OK with everyone.
The showers are nice and only a few years old ... part of an expansion at Saint Paul United Methodist Church on M Street between 11th and 12th.
PS- if anyone’s on facebook (I fully admit I’m a dork) I created an event- it’s in the Lincoln, NE network.
I’ll be there with chalk and a camera, at the least.
Also, in the spirit of local meetups, the Flickr folks are also hitting Ribfest on Saturday evening for our 8/11 Lincoln Photowalk & FlickrMeet. Anyone is welcome.
Tee hee, the press is interested:

That is so fricking awesome.
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Yipes it’s stormy.
Hopefully it clears up by noon.
No alarm clocks (power out) and a leaky roof = bad way to start the morning.
