Trouble for the Treasurer

By: Mr. Wilson on September 11, 2008
You knew State Treasurer Shane Osborn's run of positive PR couldn't last forever. The question is, was somebody in his office really fired for refusing an allegedly illegal assignment? It's pretty much impossible to say at this point since nobody at the State is talking due to the lawsuit. I'm looking forward to seeing the facts on this one.

I knew Osborne is HS and college ... he was a HUGE drunk (not that people can’t change) and I’ve never thought he was a very nice person.  Again, not everyone likes everyone though.

I don’t really know Shane, but he collided with a Chinese fighter jet in 2001 and safely landed his EP-3E only to be taken into custody by the Chinese and released several days later. His heroism certainly qualifies him for any office in the land and ensures us that he will do a good job.

I do hope that is sarcasm. If this developer saved his emails and they back his assertions (and I can’t imagine going after a public figure like that without SOMETHING) then he deserves everything he gets, and Osborn should resign. Blind adoration of a uniform is ridiculous, and since not at all indicative of one’s ability to lead, only of potential.

The article in this case is even more worthless because half of it is touting Osborn’s oft repeated military event, which has no basis whatsoever on the issue at hand.
