Tina’s Mexican Food

By: Mr. T on February 23, 2008
It looks like a new establishment will be opening where the old King Taco was once housed on Highway 2, a few blocks south of Van Dorn. Driving by this morning I noticed a "Tina's Mexican Food" sign on the window, but no signs of activity.

Do you suppose it has any relation to Tina’s Cafe a few blocks north of there?

I think you mean King Taco, Mr. T, not Super Taco. Super Taco is on 56th and Holdrege.

As for the connection with Tina’s Cafe, I wondered the same thing CP did.

Right, I meant King Taco. Super Taco is still alive and doing great!

How long did King Taco even last?

I believe they opened in the late summer and closed at the end of October. So it was open maybe 3-4 months.

Tina’s will be the third Mexican joint in a row at the same location. So, if location is an issue here, it should either be really good or face the same fate as its predecessors.

I’m looking forward to her mexican cinnamon rolls. 😉

I look forward to the Nascar-themed menu.

Bristol Burritos
Talledego Tacos
E-something Enchiladas

I should have googles “Nascar” before I started this post.

I noticed this morning that lower part of the exterior got a fresh coat of white paint sometime over the weekend.
