The Peacock Struts its Stuff

By: Mr. Wilson on November 27, 2007
The Missus tells me she saw a billboard tonight announcing that The Peacock, a new Indian restaurant, is open in the strip mall on the southeast corner of 27th and Pine Lake. Can anybody confirm that? If true, we may give it a try either on Wednesday or over the weekend.

See what your friends and neighbors have to say about this.

It appears to be open. The signage above the entry is lit. It’s on Restaurant Row, along with Starbucks, Noodles, Chipotle and Quizno’s.

Well, the signage has been lit for over a month, so that may not be the most reliable indicator 😊

It wasn’t open this weekend when we went by, but it looks like it’s close to opening, so it wouldn’t surprise me if it is. Like Mr. Wilson said, the sign has been burning for quite some time.

I’m REALLY looking forward to this restaurant opening. My policy is to give any new restaurant a handful of weeks to work out the kinks before I try it, but The Peacock may be the exception to my rule.

I was there on Friday for the private opening. THE FOOD IS FABULOUS!!! This is AUTHENTIC Indian food! Nothing like The Oven or Tandoor. This is my new favorite restaurant! I will be dining there with my friends sometime this week! You will love   “The Peacock”!

... but it’s not there yet. The flavor of the food was very good, but I (and the guy behind me) was picking bone out of every bite of the chicken dish on the buffet.

They can easily fix that by boning their meat, (Heh, heh. I said “boning”) and/or improving the quality of the meat they use. For $10.99 they will need to fix those things to survive.

I will go back but I’ll give them a few weeks to work out the kinks. I’ll be anxious to hear what others have to say.

I did love the curry they used in the chicken curry.

Unlike Steve, though, I thought it was similar to what I’ve eaten at other Indian restaurants. I consider that to be a good thing.
