That was a pretty storm last night, wasn't it? OK, I admit, I'm saying that as somebody who didn't experience any damage. Still, the clouds were neat. Did you see how they rotated and bubbled and gurgled? Good stuff. For a couple minutes it looked like Lincoln might break out of its tornado-free streak. Fortunately, the streak continues.
Did you have any damage at your place?

See what your friends and neighbors have to say about this.
I was actually pretty bummed. Just got a new chain on the chain saw.
Another late night at work and a coworker said “you better go now” Went out and was too scared. brought the bike in and watched the storm do its thing.
So wanted to cut some downed tree’s. Was gonna roam the neighborhood offering help, but dinner was smelling really good.
Any one need to borrow a chain saw?
All we had was strong winds and a little rain north of I-80. The trash can tried to run away down the street but I caught it before it got to far. ;o)
Almost as amazing as the strength of the storm was how quickly it was gone. It was impressive while it lasted but when it was over, it was beautiful. I, too, thought there was a good chance that Lincoln’s tornado-free streak might come to an end.
West A Street area got hammered pretty hard. Lots of trees down and property damage. My neighborhood had fences down, shutters smashed by hail, windows broke out, siding with 2 inch holes punched through. Saw a central air conditioner unit which looked like someone took a baseball bat to it. Bad storm, glad it wasn’t worse.
We had branches fall on our power line (and fence). I hope we’re not forced to cut down our tree. :( They say they’ll get the power back up sometime today.

The pictures are from my house and my walk to work this morning. Lots of trees destroyed.
I’m out in the West A neighborhood also - I lucked out, the only damage at our home was a shattered storm window. Neighbors to the south and east both lost entire trees.
Our street seemed to have piles of limbs in about every-other yard this morning.
Amazingly - we never lost power. Cable was in and out all evening, but power stayed on.
I’d agree that the most remarkable part was how it started like a lightswitch and ended the same way.
It was the first storm where my daughter was old enough to lecture me about my behavior - looking out windows and poking my head outside and such. Was cute - but fruitless. 😉
Ryan got a great picture of it last night:

that is an awesome pic
Not much damage in midtown, just a huge tree branch that blocked both lanes of 48th street for about 20 mins or so. Nice neighbors pulled it off the road with good sized truck. Some people are really great.
CP: That is an amazing pic! Thanks for pointing it out.
Where did he take that picture from?
Hi! I took it from atop the parking garage at 9th and Q—the one adjacent to the Journal Star—the photo is looking north. 😊
I can’t get over the angle. Was that a fisheye lens? Awesome image!
