My dad had some dental work done today and he isn't supposed to chew for a few days. That means lots of soup for a while. We had planned to eat lunch together today, but my brain froze up when I tried to think of good places to get soup for lunch. So I'm opening it up to you folks, not just for my dad and me today, but for all Lincolnites:
Who has the best soups in Lincoln?

See what your friends and neighbors have to say about this.
I’ve heard good things about Grateful Bread near 17th and Washington. Never been there myself.
I went to that salad place near 56th and Pine Lake a few months ago and they had really good soup.
Bread and Cup, Manhattan Deli and Braeda come to mind when I think of soup. The Russ’s on 33rd/Hwy 2 has soup at their cafe thats alright.
Bison Witches downtown is great for soup.
greatful bread.
I think it’s MulligaTuesday at Open Harvest.
I second the Grateful Bread idea.
Mmm… now I’m hungry for soup!
I’m a little late, but I don’t think there’s a better soup in town than the beer cheese at Lazlos. Their clam chowder normally takes a close second, though it’s been off the last couple of times. I had a sampler of the corn chowder at Great Harvest, and it was fantastic.
Hey that’s a nice site you have there. Do you ever plan to enable open or anonymous commenting for those of us who can’t or don’t want to use blogger accounts to post comments?
Manhattan Deli or Grateful Bread.
😉
According to my wife their soup is great. I ate there for the first time last week, and was impressed with the sandwich. They serve Cultiva Coffee, and had some great looking deserts. The place impressed me.
Don’t want sand to eat.
Hot and sour at China Wall. It’s only $2.99 for a quart to take home and it is very good. Vung Tau at 27th and Y has very good Vietnamese soups or the Thai House is good too.
Both mine were picked…
I LOVE the beer cheese at Lazlo’s!
The hot and sour at China Wall is good, as is the hot and sour at Vincent’s at 56th and Hwy 2.
Too bad the Garden Cafe is gone. They had a lot of great soups.
Lazlo’s beer cheese (one of my faves) has been mentioned, but I have a few more to throw into the mix, thanks to getting my wisdom teeth out recently:
*Tomato-tortellini at Grisanti’s (drool)
*Jumbon at Imperial Palace
*Blue Orchid also has this spicy soup that tastes great, but I forget the name
*Mulligatawny at The Oven
...should be some good variety in there for him. Or if he gets brave, I recommend Hy-Vee’s mashed potatoes!
