Somebody Please Take My Baseball Umpire Gear

By: Mr. Wilson on December 3, 2011
Before Robbie came around I was a baseball umpire. After he arrived ... well, I just didn't have the time to be an umpire on top of all my other responsibilities and activities. Since that time, my umpire gear has sat around waiting to be used. In my car. In the garage. in the basement. I've tried giving it away before and so far nobody has taken it. This is my last attempt. Please please please somebody take this stuff off my hands. Mask; chest protector; shin guards; plate shoes; shirts; hats; plate brush; count indicators. It's all there, and it's all inside a giant duffle bag. And it's free. There's got to be an umpire out there who wants a bag o' free gear. Anybody? Bueller?

There’s an ‘Umpires’ section on http://www.juniorsaltdogs.org/ that has an email address for the umpire coordinator. When I got rid of my gear I gave it to an umpire coordinator in my hometown and they passed it on to a new umpire. Hopefully this will work for you too.

If you haven’t tried Freecycle, that’s another good way to give it a new home.

I’d be interested in some of the stuff. I already have some gear, but if any of it is an upgrade I would be more than willing to take it off your hands.

I used to umpire for a church league who tries to supply as much equipment as they can for their umps to borrow. Anything that I don’t keep, I know they would love to have and I can pass it on to them.
