Reason #1938 Why Lincoln is Perceived as a Difficult Place to Do Business

Mayor Coleen Seng said Monday she will throw out the "request for proposals" the city issued for a 100,000-square-foot office building that turned out to be for Verizon Wireless. In a move reminiscent of the RFP process when the city purchased seven new firetrucks, Seng has concluded the bidding process should begin anew.::sigh::

Not a good thing but at least this appears to give local businesses a fair shake in the bidding process. I just hope Verizon is on board with this.
Too many sour grapes from Ayers and Ayers on this one. I’m all for fairness, but the jobs here will be huge. I wouldn’t want my company all over page 1 crying about sour grapes—not good for the image of the company at all. This better not turn into a quagmire like the fire truck deal.
