Quick Correction

Contrary to earlier reports that the space on 13th and L which housed the old M13/Ma Lou's restaurant would be converted into a coffee shop, instead it seems that the location is being remodeled into a mens' barber shop which may open as early as the middle of next month. Speaking of Ma Lou - her new Manila Bay restaurant has been open for several weeks now - katty corner from where she was before on 10th and O. An LJS review is still forthcoming for a to be announced hard opening.

Good to know!

I want to Manilla Bay a few weeks ago and it was great! I highly recommend it.

I can’t remember which dish I got, either chicken pancit or chicken adobo. I thought it was a little heavy with onions, but they were quite mild, so it didn’t matter. Great food and service. Can’t wait to go back.

Yeah I know what you mean Foxspit. Good food, no frills, nice price. I love the chicken pancit and also the fried lumpia, which I think are pretty unique dishes unavailable at other places here in town. I have been having that once a week.

Seems to be a one woman operation now. She is going to need some help if she wants to serve more customers!

I’ll have to try the fried lumpia, although the name alone sounds like it will harden the arteries.
