Phriday Phood

Mr. T and I dropped by Phreddy's Phillies (or whatever Papa John's is going to be called) for a couple philly cheesesteaks. For five bucks ($5.50 to add mushrooms and jalapenos) you get a bunch of meat, onions, and green peppers stacked on a fresh roll, along with a pile of seasoned french fries. Healthfood it ain't -- Mr. T likened his post-eating condition to having raw egg yolks flowing through his veins -- but if you're looking for a good cheesesteak, you aren't really interested in its healthfulness, are you? I've been hankering for a good cheesesteak in the Downtown area for a few months. I think I've found my place.

It was indeed the bomb. They are obviously still doing interior and exterior designing however. But yes, I knew it would be good after watching a few drops of grease trickle into the platter as Mr. Wilson lifted the sandwich to his waiting mouth. I have never had a “real” cheese steak ala Philadelphia, so I don’t have a good reference. But it was definitely one to remember here in Lincoln.

My only suggestion is - have an option for a larger size as well for those who really want to fill up, and have options for different kinds of cheese. But yes, it was a very good sandwich indeed.

I’ve been waiting to try the cheesesteak there.  Glad you tested the waters, I’ll check it out for myself now.
