Nebraska: The Drive-Thru State By: Mr. Wilson on May 22, 2009 3 comments Nebraska is often known as a flyover state, but we can also be proud to call ourselves a good drive-through state now that the National Motorists Association has ranked us #4 on their rankings of states by a variety of motorist-friendly policies. That's good news for those of us headed across the state to Fort Robinson later this summer, though I'm not sure Emiliano Gomez Gonzalez would agree. Comments See what your friends and neighbors have to say about this. Moses May 22, 2009 at 2:50PM Until I get home to Oregon…... I am heading home next week to see the folks. Nice to see three of the four states where I will be traveling in the top four…....... Mr. T May 22, 2009 at 10:59PM Nebraska’s speed limit is awesome. And it totally makes sense. On the highway the safest speed for drivers is the speed that everyone else (or the vast majority) is driving at, and the vast majority drive faster not slower. We got this one right. Mrs. Wisco May 28, 2009 at 12:49AM I think Nebraska is a good state to drive through, as long as you are white. Traffic on I-80 isn’t bad, and the higher speed limit makes it relatively better than other states. However, non-whites with out of state plates seem like they’re always targeted by the state troopers. Share your thoughts with the community. Commenting is no longer permitted on this post.
