Morgan Spurlock Watch

I dislike Morgan Spurlock for pretty much the same reason I dislike Michael Moore: he intentionally misleads and lies to the public while passing himself as an impartial documentarian. Fortunately, Radley Balko is willing to pick apart his claims.

I really dont think either of them really try and pass themselves off as being “impartial” at all.
Its pretty clear they have an axe to grind, from the first 5 seconds of their movies.
I saw both their films of last year and it seemed to me like most people didnt come away from, or expect, their films to be impartial. Usually there
is some point that the film maker is trying to make with their documentary and its up to the viewer to determine the extent to which the story is “misleading” or not. As for stating deliberate
lies well yes that is certainly a shortfall.

You’re right, “impartial” is the wrong word, at least in the sense in which it is normally used. Both have an agenda, and both will freely admit to it (more or less). What I meant by “impartial” is that both present their information to the public in a way that says: “this may not be all the information available on this topic, but the information I have chosen to present is true.” I don’t know what word to use in impartial’s place. Forthright?
