Make Your Guess

By: Mr. Wilson on January 16, 2008
Wow, now they're saying 3 to 6 inches of snow in the next day or so. I didn't even realize we were expecting snow this week. Maybe now is a good time to mention that I'm soon headed to Fort Lauderdale... Lincolnites love to sit around and talk about the weather, so here's your chance for today. Make your guesses about
  1. the time the snow is going to start, and
  2. how much we'll end up with.
I haven't been paying any attention to the forecasts, so I'm guessing blind here. I'm going with:
  1. 2:00pm
  2. 4.5 inches

It is 9:09 AM and I just saw the first flake.  According to what I see on the radar, the big snow will start at 1:51 PM and we will see 6.2 inches…..or none at all.

I saw flakes at 8:47 AM, so I will take that. I think we will see 5.75 inches. (Insert joke here about my wife wanting to see 5.75 inches—will that make it past the censors?). Stay classy, Lincoln!

it started @ 9:04am on UNL campus near Hamilton Hall (that’s where I was walking to Organic Chem). then when i got outside after class (10:20am) it was ONE HELLUVA blizzard.

i was up at 530am starting my triathlon training and when i woke up my apt was freezing (i turn down my heat at night) ... so i expected it to be FREEZING outside. NOPE! it was close to 45’F this morning when i left for training. i almost wanted to run outside this morning (rare occasion in january).

accumulation: 2.5” (because the wind blows too much—but my heart is hoping for 7+ ... woo hoo!!)

LINCOLN in German = corncock; which is a chicken that eats ONLY corn (you sickos!)

No guess here - just hoping that I win the roommate raffle & don’t have to do the shoveling!

If you’re stuck at the airport this thing is pretty fun to play around with on your cell phone though…you can track planes in the air & it has live radar for Lincoln…
