Now that Rothchild's is gone and Knight's Clothing is closing up shop, I wonder just how many local clothing stores there are in Lincoln. Can you help compile a list? I can't think of many, but I don't know if that's because there aren't many, or because I just plain don't shop for clothes.
The only two that come immediately to mind are The Black Market (Downtown on O Street) and Pixi Chicks (College View). Actually, I'm not even sure The Black Market still exists since I haven't been near there in many months. I know Pixi Chicks is around, though, since I drive up 48th Street all the time.
Can you help add more local clothing shops to the list?

The Post and Nickle seems to do well, on 14th and P.
Oh of course! I should have remembered that one since it’s right across the street from my son’s FAVORITE PLACE IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD.
I’ve long meant to go in there. I don’t know that I’m hip enough, though.
Post & Nickel is a chain, isn’t it? There’s one in Omaha.
Black Market is still there (one of my favorite clothing stores)
Also downtown:
Stella: http://www.stellaclothing.com/ (women’s clothes)
Tsuru: http://www.tsurushop.com/ (women’s clothes)
Aorta: http://aortadesign.blogspot.com/ (women’s and men’s, hipster-ish)
Also:
Robot Luv: http://www.robotluv.com/ (Another hipstery place)
(Couldn’t include more than three links in a post)
OK, just looked it up - There are two locations for Post and Nickel, one in Lincoln and one in Omaha.
Gary Michaels Clothiers
Blu Velvet out on North 48th (Wesleyan Area).
Less than a ‘chain’... more like a ‘link’ or 2. Guess it depends on where it started.
And can we forget the Nebraska Book Store, where a small army could be outfitted in things red from head to toe.
Not sure if Purse Revue is still open (70th & Pioneers).
I’ve never set foot in the place, but a friend of mine buys a lot of clothes at Emsud’s on Pine Lake.
The Vickeridge in Havelock
Otherwise known as Murray’s for Men of Stature in Meridian Park.
Fusion in College View.
I believe that Post and Nickel is owned by a Lincoln family.
