Oooh!  Tough category!

I can have five favorites but probably in five different categories.

Here’s one of my favorite downtown buildings, the old Woods Brothers Telephone buiding by Walgreens on 13th Street.

I wouldn’t have thought of that building. That’s a good one.

I’m a fan of the NRC building on Q Street. I really appreciate that somebody bothered to go to a lot of trouble to put makeup on a pig and, frankly, the pig doesn’t look half bad as a result.

It’s amazing what a coat of pain can do, isn’t it?

I kind of like the building that houses Lazlo’s, Fireworks and Empyrean Ales in the Haymarket. It just looks good on that corner with the Fireworks sign, etc. The interior’s nicely done, too.

Not in any particular order and at the risk of being a little cliche…

the Capital, the white mansion at 17th & G, the Depot, Memorial Stadium, and the Sheldon

There’s got to be a church in Lincoln that deserves to be on the list. Doesn’t there?

Good point Eric!  I like the way that architects blended new construction into a historic downtown church with Saint Paul Methodist Church at 11th and M.

I agree, they did a great job with St. Paul. I don’t know that it qualifies as one of Lincoln’s best buildings, but it’s certainly an example of a remodel/addition done well.
