Life After Congress?

Eyeing some of the GOP’s most independently minded senators, Obama is considering Sens. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska and Richard Lugar of Illinois as possible secretaries of defense and state, respectively, senior advisers told the newspaper. Asked about his Cabinet choices last week, Obama told The Sunday Times: “Chuck Hagel is a great friend of mine and I respect him very much.” He did not go into further detail. Both Hagel and Lugar - who are Obama's colleagues on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee - would be great cabinet positions (Oh by the way FOX, Lugar is from Indiana, not Illinois). This makes one wonder what happens to Dodd and Biden, who are also on Foreign Relations. A VP role? This election season keeps getting better and better...

See what your friends and neighbors have to say about this.
God help us if anyone named in your post gets a high-level position in either a McCain or Obama administration.
Honestly although I think Hagel is a strong choice for a cabinet position, I think its unlikely that either McCain or Obama would pick another senator as a VP (thus you can forget about Dodd or Biden…but who knows).
But just out of curiosity Dave, who do you think would be a good secretary of state or secretary of defense? Chuck Norris?
I am going to mirror Dave K…
Some of these people need to ride off into the sunset…
Right, we need cronyism, not smart people.
LOL. Did you read what Obama said about Hagel?
