Let’s Play a Game: Twenty Questions

By: Mr. Wilson on January 16, 2009
I'm in the mood to play a game. How 'bout Twenty Questions? We've never played that one before. Here are the rules:
  1. The answer is related to Lincoln.
  2. The questions should be worded so they generate a yes/no answer.
  3. Each person may ask one question at a time. After your question has been answered, you may ask another one.
  4. Ask your question as a comment to this blog post. Do not ask your question as a reply to another comment (i.e. a "nested comment")
Since I have never done this before I'm not sure how easy or difficult this is going to be. I will try to lean toward "easy" this time. I can always make it harder next time, if needed. OK, I've got the answer ready. Ask your questions, Lincolnites! Answers so far Fletch figured it out:
  1. It is not a person.
  2. It is a building.
  3. It is not a UNL building.
  4. It is a restaurant or bar.
  5. It is not taller than 6 stories.
  6. It is not part of a chain or franchise.
  7. It is not Downtown.
  8. It is not south of Highway 2.
  9. It is on or east of 48th Street.
  10. It has been open longer than two years.
  11. It is on or north of O Street.
  12. It does not serve Mexican cuisine.
  13. It serves pizza/Italian.
  14. It serves alcohol.
  15. It is not Misty's.
  16. It is not south of Vine Street.
  17. It is The Isles Pub and Pizza. Congratulations, Fletch!

I’m nesting my comment because this isn’t an official guess - I’m just conferencing with fellow Lincolnites 😊

Two ways of going with this - narrowing down the location, or perhaps narrowing down what type of food (if it’s a restaurant) that they serve.  Is it ethnic, or is it American?

...just ideas.

Solvers:
If you’re Googling restaurants or bars, I think it’s likely in the 68504, 05, or 07 zip code.

If it’s a restaurant, placess along 48th such as Michel’s Ville Grille & Mo Java come to mind.  I would suggest La Paz as well, but that’s Mexican.  There’s also a few Asian places like Great Wall.  Others:  Blue Moon, Greg’s, Cook’s Cafe.

There are a lot of bars, so that may be harder to narrow down…

Mr. Wilson

Funny you should mention La Paz. That was my original answer, but I changed it because I figured you guys would figure out a Mexican joint too quickly.

I was going to guess Misty’s but then I remembered that we asked if it was downtown and Mr. W said no. I was actually thinking Isle’s when I asked about pizza.

Stupid short attention span. 😉

Nice job!  Alas, I kept having to leave the office today, so I wish I could’ve helped more.  That was one I was thinking.

I like these Lincolnite Games! Where in Lincoln, fill in the missing corner, 20Q, etc.

Mr. Wilson - I think you have the answer to the question “How can I increase comments on my blog?”

These puzzles work well, as do most discussions about restaurants.

I asked this once before - but someone mentioned that we have profiles. I can’t seem to find one. Can anyone guide me?
