Jones Coffee

By: Mr. T on February 23, 2007
It appears that another new coffee place is coming to central Lincoln, this one at 11th and G next to the Davincis. This is excellent news to me because I live about 2 blocks away, and a good coffee place with free wireless (fingers crossed) would be very welcome in the area. They must be going for the near south student crowd as well as city/county people. My only other suggestion would be that they also offer sandwiches. That would be cool - and would make the place more attractive to people who normally don't go to coffee places. If anyone knows more about this place, do tell. It looks like it won't be open for a while however.

I was on the DaVincis website the other day looking at my options for supper and it says they have free wifi, presumably at most if not all locations.  If they have a buffet and a public bathroom, you might not have to leave for days…

I live a few blocks away myself.  Not much of a bean water drinker though.  I roll down G every day on the way to work.

With CoHo To Go at the Landmark Building a couple of blocks (11th and Lincoln Mall) away and Capital City Coffee a few blocks north of that (near Ninth and L streets), this may be over saturation for coffee places.

CoHo has sandwiches, wraps and pastries, so the competition might be tough between the two.

I am part owner of Jones Coffee. We will be opening the first day of spring.

We will have free wireless internet.  Unfortunately we wont be able to serve anything that is in direct competition with Davincis (they are our landlords).  We will serve bagels, muffins, yogurt, granola, oatmeal, cakes, pies, cookies, tea, juice and all that jazz not to mention we will be open from 6 am to midnight.  We will be serving 100% fair trade organic coffee from Just Coffee in Madison, WI.  COHO to go is a great place to go for lunch, but the hours they have are minimal.  We will be serving a completely different purpose.  We want to give the people a place they can hang out at, listen to live music and slam poetry, study, and have a good cup of coffee.  Let me know if you have any other suggestions, we are more than happy to listen.
much love,
-Kim
