Ladies and gentlemen, the winner:
This "professionally designed" (gag!) plate received 41,000 of 109,000 votes. The meadowlark design -- the only acceptable choice, in my opinion -- finished second with 34,000 votes.
I foresee a run on Husker plates in the near future.

Apparently, College Humor was purposely putting out the call for everyone to vote for the worst plate. http://www.collegehumor.com/hotlink:214800)
I wondered if somebody would do that. It’s a very common game for people to rig votes like this. Maybe the Gov should check out the IP addresses of voters to see where all the votes came from.
A lot of local IP addresses say they’re from other states (especially TWC), so it’s pretty difficult to pin that down. How about letting us choose between four designs that don’t suck?
I don’t recall how plates were picked in the past. Anyone? Seems like there was a committee or something. Online voting, to me, isn’t a wise idea.
I think they are boring, but actually dig the colors to a slight degree. The thing I hate the most is having NEBRASKA on there two times. It’s just stupid. It’s just stupid.
I remember being shocked at how the last plate looked in reality, compared to the version given for the vote. The colors were much different.
Given that surprise, I was tempted to vote for the gray. I couldn’t bring myself to do it though.
Maybe we’ll end up appreciating the quiet dignity of the gray plate, ala the “generic” white and blue plates of the 80s.
Exactly. The entire design totally sucks beyond belief. But the fact that they have “Nebraska” twice is just mind boggling.
