Hide the Women and Children!

Lincoln Police Chief Tom Casady is a big proponent of Crime Mapping and similar services. And so am I. I have been subscribed to the server for several months now to help keep tabs on any crime going on near my house. There's just one problem: crime near my house is boring. For example:
LFT SHOP W/O PAYING FOR SERVICE NAIL SERVICE W PK GEMSTONES/NAIL SERVICE W/WHI EYEBROW WAX
It's a fantastic problem to have. I don't want exciting crimes to be going on nearby. For the most part the crimes around here involve petty vandalism or minor domestic disputes. And they're relatively infrequent. How does the crime look in your neighborhood? If you don't know, you should sign up to find out. And be on the lookout for somebody with fabulous nails and a guilty look on their face

See what your friends and neighbors have to say about this.

I’m signed up too. The best one was at our old house when my next-door neighbor showed up as a victim: Unlocked vehicle broken into, DVD taken “Girls Gone Wild”

Now that we’re near 27th and Pine Lake, it’s amazing how much shoplifting occurs at South Pointe, Walgreens, Shopko. The No. 1 item, so it seems: condoms. One can only assume that getting caught stealing them somehow is less embarrassing than buying them.

I was signed up for a while, but got tired of getting them.  My range included the Super Saver and Target area near 48th and O.  I’m convinced that block is the shoplifting capital of the world.

Yeah, I don’t need that much crime news. I’m sure people that live in larger cities think the idea of this is kind of funny.

And in the same report, same block, so presumably related:

KNW PR HEADBUTTED V

On the original, I wonder if it’s also a headbutt, but described by a different officer. I suppose punching someone in the face with your face is technically a headbutt…

Fortissimo, you must live near me, I’m also in the Milk Bandit area.

I had the same issue. I live close enough to the mall that I was flooded with shoplifting cases. I changed the address to one that included my neighborhood, but not quite the mall. Much better results.

I live in the Indian Village hood and occassionally get a shoplifting from village market and gas drive-offs from the station on hwy 2 near arapahoe.  This one I thought sounded funny from the 3300 block of Woodshire BLVD, “BROTHER HIT SISTER ON ARM/WANTED NO ACTION TAKEN”.

I lived less than a 1/4 mile from the mall. I was inundated. Now I live near a rich folks neighborhood, so I don’t get anything hardly ever.

Oh, in that case, welcome to the neighborhood.

(I kid)

I set mine a little too far, and pick up all the shoplifting at the south Wal Mart, and plenty of gas drive-offs from nearby gas stations.
