What an embarrassment. I think one of the most compelling reads in the paper this morning is from School Board member Prettyman shreding the facts of the editorial the LJS offered in regards to the closing of Dawes. I’m no huge fan of the School Board, but he is right on with his criticism.

Perhaps it’s because this happened yesterday morning and it was on their website alot yesterday.

Its so odd how the Lincoln Turco Star prioritizes some crime stories and buries the others. Really strange.

Was it? That’s a good and reasonable explanation, except I checked ljs.com a couple times yesterday and didn’t see it. Then again, Firefox crashed about 600 times yesterday, so maybe FF was doing some sort of weird caching thing.

I prefer your explanation. Regardless, I still think a murder is more important than salt.

I’m a regular visitor of the LJS website, and I did NOT miss the story yesterday.  I can’t recall precisely where I found it, but I certainly didn’t have to dig to find it.  It was at some point on the front page in the main news section.  News stories seems to have a regular flow in and out of the main areas of the website, but you’re right in saying that a homicide deserves to stay on the main page for a little more than a day.

But as sure as the sun will rise in the East tomorrow morning, Cindy Lange-Kubick’s sentimental piece on the person who was murdered (and probably even the murderer) will be on the front page for several days.

OK then, I’ll blame Firefox. There was probably a component of user error, too, but I prefer to blame the software.

Fletch - Just a name that came to mind due to the paper’s seeming obsession with Turco for a while there. I realize that some attention to Turco is deserved giving his behavior, but I just found it a little striking how anything Turco related was splashed on the front page to such a prominent degree. I guess Turco and Melissa Midwest are the OJ and Britney of Lincoln.

On the Local News page it lists the murder story at the top of the list of the day’s most read stories. Shouldn’t that automatically qualify it for inclusion on the paper’s home page?

I agree, it’s big news today even though it was on the Web site yesterday.

All those salts sound like “brand” names for illegal drugs.

since they pretty much have the guy it kind of makes sense.  I am sure this will be making headlines for weeks though.
