A recent post on Taste of Lincoln made me remember that I haven't yet been to Phat Jack's at 40th and Cornhusker. I just don't get to or think about that area of town very often. I should. I mean, the food looks just like BBQ should, and it sounds like other than some initial concerns about portion sizes, Lincolnites love it.
Have you been to Phat Jack's yet? What's your verdict?

See what your friends and neighbors have to say about this.
It’s been awhile, but a co-worker and I went there several months ago. The portions were huge and the food was very good.
My memory is too poor to have very specific recall. Sauces were pretty mild, I thought. Everything had a good smokey flavor and I don’t recall anything negative.
Sorry I could offer a better review, but it’s just been too long ago for me to remember details.
If I didn’t like something, however, I’m sure I would have remembered that. So it must be pretty good!
I was there a few weeks ago. There’s hardly any parking, so you end up jamming your vehicle in some odd spot by the trailer park. It also gets crowded inside during lunch, but on a nice day you can eat outside on the deck.
Even though it was busy, the service was great. The food was wonderful. We cleared our own tables, due to the crowd, so a place up front to drop off trays and dispose of garbage would be helpful.
It’s too bad the place isn’t bigger with more parking.
Are they under new ownership or something? Myself and three other co-workers went there for lunch back in December and it was not a pleasant experience. The food was cold, the portions were miniscule and two of us got sick shortly after eating. I

You gotta do what you gotta do! 😉
The guy I went with said they really upped their portions. It didn’t take over Paul’s as the best BBQ in Lincoln for me, but it wasn’t a bad place.
No new ownership just a couple of owners who listened to the people. They admit the beginnings were a bit rocky, but they increased their portion sizes (for example) and people have returned.
I can foresee them moving to a larger location within a year or so. Good luck to them! It really is good BBQ.
Just what this country needs - bigger portions. :(
