Karen Dalziel gave me the idea for today's Friday Five: five places I've lived in Lincoln, as seen from above. Can you identify all of the neighborhoods?

I recognize all five, but that’s cuz I know where you live, and where you lived.
However you forgot to put an aerial of UNL as one of the places…give Neihardt Hall some props!

Wow, those neighborhoods all look so new. I’ve mostly lived in older neighborhoods in Lincoln.
I don’t recognize a one.

Yeah, but then it would have been Friday Six, and that doesn’t alliterate nearly as nicely. Plus it was way too easy.

Actually, they aren’t all that new. #1 is 1950’s, #2 is 1980’s, #3 is a wide range (1940’s to 2000’s?), #4 is 1970’s (maybe?), and #5 is 1960’s.
Some other clues:
1. The two buildings in the lower-right are portables attached to a middle school.
2. The area to the south was a cornfield when I was a kid, but today it’s colonial.
3. The U is nearby.
4. The line in the middle is a railroad track, and the diagonal line in the lower-right is a bike path.
5. There’s a creek in the lower-left corner.

Well, new comparitively- I have not lived in a house newer than 1920 (in Lincoln)
#3 looks awfully familiar the more I look at it. It’s driving me nuts.
All of these have North at the top, correct?

Yup, up is north.
And here’s something I just noticed: depending on what year photo #4 was taken, it appears The Missus was home.

#2 Has to be the neighborhood to the north of Old Cheney, west of the old HyVee location. The stuff on the bottom of the picture is from about 34th Street to the Walgreens in Williamsburg Village.

Ok, it has been a long weekend… so I will spill the beans:
1. Just north of Pound Middle School
2. Already stated just north of Old Cheney, East of the Morman Church
3. Just south of Vine Street, around 20th
4. The apartments at 27th and Hwy 2 in the southwest corner
5. The area near 48th and Hwy 2… just north of the Godfathers strip mall and to the east.

Bah! That’s exactly what I was thinking, but I wasn’t sure. It was that weird walkway right in the center that tipped me off. Whenever I’m walking around there it strikes me as odd.
