Eminent Domain Abuse Goes On Trial

By: Mr. Wilson on February 22, 2005
Today Kelo v. City of New London goes before the Supreme Court. Reason Magazine has put together an excellent reading list for those of you who need to catch up. Keep an eye on this case, ladies and gents. The implications for the Antelope Valley Project -- and, more immediately, John Q. Hammons' proposed hotel at 17th & R -- are huge. If the SCOTUS finds eminent domain abuse in Kelo... Well, the Antelope Valley Project's uphill struggle could suddenly become even more difficult.

I know this is unrelated…

Hey do a comment about annexation…especially consideirng what’s happening here with Omaha and Elkhorn.

Basically, Omaha said, we’ll annex Elkhorn just before they get 10,000, making them somewhat immune to annexation, a few weeks ago.

Elkhorn said, screw that, we’re gonna annex enough to make our poulation about 10,000.

Today, Omaha is having a meeting to possibly annex Elkhorn before they hit ht 10K mark.

If Omaha wants more revenue, they better do it quikly as Elkhorn is the “hamptons” (sp) of Omaha.

Speaking of annexation, I think Omaha should annex parts of Council Bluffs, IA. This should raise the average IQ in both states of its residents.
