Nearly half of the Lower 48 is experiencing drought conditions of one form or another. Upon hearing that startling statistic I couldn't help but recall the news from a short two months ago that the City won't restrict water usage this summer. Hopefully that decision doesn't come back to bite us one day.

The word I heard is that the City wanted to sell more water, therefore no restrictions this year.

Down at the southern end of our water tank, “16-county High Plains [Texas] Underground Water Conservation Dist. monitoring wells showed a decline last year of 2.56 feet…” so if you’re wanting to draw some water from the Oglalla aquifer, maybe you’d better hurry.
