Mayor Chris Beutler just announced that Hoppe Brothers has been chosen to lead the redevelopment project as 21st and N. Their proposal includes retail, a grocery store, and low income housing. The Mayor is making the announcement right now, so more details will come out soon.

See what your friends and neighbors have to say about this.
This will be a great use for that area, and residents of the core will greatly benefit. Great news.
This sounds fantastic! I especially like the mixed housing - it’s part of what makes this area of town great to live in, the variety of people. :D
I don’t live in the area, and likely would never use the grocery, but I think it’s a great addition to the city.
A Hy-Vee will put some pressure on Ideal Grocery and Market, only about 1/2 mile away.
Yep, a substantial amount of pressure. Although Ideal fills a slightly different niche than Hy-Vee.
Along this same vein, I wonder what the new Fallbrook Super Saver will do (pressure-wise) to the IGA at NW 48th and Huntington.
