StarTran users should take note of upcoming changes to fare cards. The new cards will bring StarTran into the 20th Century (sic) by using "magnetic strip technology" to keep track of transactions. The new passes will be available at a number of outlets.
One of my concerns at this point is whether or not riders will be able to easily determine the balance remaining on their fare cards. Can I access a website to determine how many rides or days I have remaining? Is there an automated telephone number? Or do I have to board a bus, swipe my card, and find out that way?

I haven’t seen a lot of complicated boarding on StarTran when I’ve ridden it, but I also don’t see a problem with the new cards. I don’t know how you “re-up” a depleted card, but that shouldn’t be hard to figure out.
I just wish Star Tran could tweak its schedule to get me downtown 10 minutes earlier, then I could ride the bus year-round. I would much rather give my money to StarTran than to Phillips 66.
Just got back from a week in Denver where I rode the bus almost every day. The bike racks on the buses were sweet!
