A Lincolnite Needs a Battery

By: Mr. Wilson on January 25, 2008
A Lincolnite dropped me a note asking if I have any recommendations for where to purchase a new laptop battery in town. I don't have much experience with purchasing batteries -- not beyond AA's, anyway -- so I'm turning to you folks for help. Where in town would you recommend a person go to find a new laptop battery?

Not sure if the Office Maxes and Depots carry them. There’s that Interstate Battery store on North 27th Street near Superior (just south of Schlotsky’s) that, I believe, sells batteries of all types. It would be worth a call to them.

Radio Shack? Not sure about them either.

Quite frankly, no where- Id rather order it off of the ‘Bay (new or used) then pay 100.00+ at BB or from Dell, in my particular case.

If looking online, you could also try http://www.batteriesplus.com . I know they sell nearly every battery known to man.

The UNL Computer Store in the 501 Building has a lot of batteries. I think the public can shop there, it’s just that only students can get the discounts (I think).

Schrock Innovations should be able to tell you if they don’t sell them.

We tried all the local office depots, circuit cities, best buys, etc. None of them had them in stock but could probably get us one in a few days. Interstate All Battery store on North 27th did not have in stock either but could get one here by Monday at a decent price.  So, we ordered from them. They were very nice and said if for some reason we ordered the wrong one they would be happy to keep ordering until we got the correct one.  So, we will see what we get on Monday. Thanks to all
