A Good Barber in Lincoln?

By: Mr. T on July 21, 2008
My old barber just packed up and left town in a flurry. If anyone knows of a good barber (preferably someone who specializes in men's hair) please weigh in.

Im kind of tired of going to places where the staff went to cosmotology school and doesn’t know what a high and tight is, ever after explanation, and then asks at some point “Are you sure you want it that short?” No one seems to do skintight fades anymore according to them because of ‘regulations’.

Huh?

Can’t go wrong with Gene at The Straight Edge just south of 13th and N.

Go to Gary at the Captain’s Chair.  They know a lot about what’s going on in Lincoln too.  Will be great for your blog.

I frequented the Captain’s Chair while I lived in Lincoln.  Shortly before I moved to KC, Gary’s brother-in-law (Ryan?) started working there…he did a great job on the couple of haircuts I got from him.

On a side note, I once inadvertently called The Clipper for an appointment when I meant to call the Captain’s Chair.  All those nautical-themed barber shops can get confusing…

I’d hit up The Golden Shear at 24th and Sumner-ish. Always some great discussing in there.
