This video, "A Girl Like Me", is making the rounds right now. It's a short (7 minutes) documentary by Kiri Davis, a high school student.
There are a lot of things I still don't "get" about race and racial identity in the United States. I can't wrap my head around some of the girls' comments in the film, for example. But several parts of the film are intriguing, and I can't help but think about how it all relates to Robert.

Intriguing video. It’s hard to “get” anything about race and racial identity here in Nebraska simply because we are not exposed to different races very often (or at least I wasn’t as I was growing up in a tiny rural community). Unless a person is blessed with the opportunity to be close to someone of a different race, they probably will never “get” it.

There is something more recent circulating about a recent study on skin color and salary. The finding: those with progressively lighter skin tone make higher salaries than those with darker skin. OoO my*#$@!!god what a stunner!!!
