See what your friends and neighbors have to say about this.
Is it southwest of 48th and O Street?
1. I don’t know.
Having probs posting in a new thread.
Is it a person?
Seeing if I have the same problem as Nikkidemas by trying to post in a new thread…
2. Is it a person?
A: Yes.
Is the person mobile?
Scratch that. I withdraw my question, if that’s within the rules.
Is he/she a government employee?
3. No.
Today makes me think it’s Old Man Winter!
This was a good question. Susan Gourley, what with Mr. Wilson’s inflatable weenie and all, would have been a logical, but too obvious choice. LOL
Is this person female?
4. No.
Are we searching for a specific, singular individual? (As opposed to a collective, or omnipresent group, that is)
5. Yes.
Is this man still living?
6. Yes.
Is this man a business owner?
7. No*.
* Not to my knowledge.
Is it a member of the City Planning Department deciding that piles of snow around the city is not compatible with the overall city/county comprehensive plan and therefore must be removed.
Is this man or was he ever a public figure?
8. Yes.
Is this man retired?
No question yet, just posting a comment so I can be notified of future comments.
(Side note, that would be a nice feature of the site?)
9. Yes.
Indeed that would be nice. One of these days I’ll get around to redeveloping this site. One of these days. ::sigh::
Does this man still live in hometown proud Lincoln, Nebraska?
10. Yes.
Great question, Fletch. Now I’m wondering if he DID work for the government or if he DID own a business before he retired…
You say the man is not a government employee, and is retired, and is a public figure. Was he an elected official?
11. No.
Did this man work in media?
12. No.
My first thought was “Oh, she thinks it’s Mel Maines”. Was I right? (And did I mutilate the spelling of his name?)
He was one idea…but I thought maybe someone from radio or the LJS too. Unfortunately, Mel Mains passed away a few years ago, so #6 eliminated him as a possible answer anyway.
Was he at LPS?
13. Yes.
Fletch smells blood…
Could be Phil Schoo. If so, you were close with that Susan Gourley remark earlier, Fletch!
I was going to ask if he had a school named after him next… but let’s just ditto Nikki’s - is it Phil Schoo?
14. Yes!
Good work, Fletch! With the Susan Gourley comment earlier, I thought you guys might squeak this one out in under 10 questions. Still, 14 is pretty darn good; the best yet, I believe.
Actually, Ms. Gourley was my original candidate, but I knew that would be too easy. So I went with Phil Schoo, The Man Who Never Called Off School (or so I thought when I was a student).
Good teamwork again, gang!
For those of us who never heard of Phil Schoo?????
For those of you who never heard of him - I hope you enjoyed your snow days. ha!
I have lived here since 1992 and have no idea who he is, or was. Must not have been obscure to you, but he is to me.
He was the superintendent of LPS before Susan Gourley.
Phil Schoo was LPS Superintendent from 1985 until 2004. He’s even got his own school now. That’s right: Schoo School. I can hear the poor kindergartners: “How come ‘Schoo’ is pronounced ‘sko’, while ‘school’ is pronounced ‘skule’? Spelling is hard.”
