A while back The Missus won a free stay at Pine Crest Farms Bed and Breakfast, located just south of Valparaiso. We will be staying there this weekend. (And assuming I remember my camera, I'll post some photos of the B&B when we get back.) We figure as long as we're in the neighborhood we may as well see what else the area has to offer. Any suggestions? Any sort of reasonable suggestion is welcome, from a pretty drive, to a great slice of pie, to a small town baseball game.

I’ve been there before. The owner is a major history nut and they have all sorts of old relics and history books lying about. The rooms are very nice and the place is overall very quiet and relaxing.
The only issue is that they have a big dog that gets in the way of everything. Or at least they had a big dog a while ago. Otherwise, great place to stay!
There’s a nice trail heading west from Valpo right next to the main street there. It might be a little sloppy after all this rain, but it’s very diverse and pretty.
