Super Taco Too?

By: Mr. Wilson on August 21, 2009
Mr. T told me he saw that Super Taco is going into the Building Where Restaurants Go To Die on Sun Valley Boulevard just north of O Street. Can anybody confirm that? I was near there just last weekend but I must have missed it. If it's true, I suggest those of you in the neighborhood give it a try soon. Super Taco has some good eats -- the location at 56th and Holdrege was the site of my first torta -- but that building is a black hole for restaurants.

Confirmed that, yes, they have a new location there.  Also confirmed that any restaurant in that location gets 3-4 months to live.

In the past couple of years that I’ve worked in West Lincoln, there’s been Chinese (various owners), BBQ, casual sit-down type dining, and now Mexican.

On a side note, I saw them painting it bright yellow and the first thing I thought (before the sinage) was D’Leons.  Since it’s about 15 blocks to the nearest one, that would have made it a prime target for expansion 😉

Confirmed according the signs on the place. Last Wednesday, there were many cars in the parking lot there.

“The Building Where Restaurants Go To Die”
Ha! that is so true. the place must be possessed or something. but what about that old saying? “location, location, location”
What is out there other than the bowling alley?  Sounds like a bad location to me on that basis alone.

You could argue that the site should benefit from baseball traffic, but evidently not. Which is a bigger black hole, the Super Taco site or the Brazenhead/Baciami/Ironworks/Magnolia site?
