Speech!

By: Mr. Wilson on May 22, 2007
I'm best man in a wedding this weekend, so I need to prepare a speech for the reception. I already have most of it thought out, but I figured I should see if any of you have any advice for me. I already have some of the basics:
  • Keep it short.
  • Do not give a speech while drunk.
  • Beware the fine line between funny and cringe-inducing.
Anything else?

There’s $10 in it for you if you can work the words “moist” and “panting” into the toast/speech.

I would like to see you give it drunk… the last time I saw you drunk and speaking about anything remotely serious was hilarious!  Either way, cannot wait to hear it… Perhaps the Missus and I will videotape it!

What do you mean “the last time” you saw me drunk? You’ve only seen me drunk once, and we had a perfectly coherent conversation, thankyouverymuch. The last time I saw YOU drunk, on the other hand, you were playing the role of Atari 2600-playing Bond villain. Now THAT was hilarious! And I can prove it: I have the video right here. I hear YouTube calling…

I saw Mr. Wilson drunk just the other day. Get one beer into the guy and he launches into a diatribe about Ron Paul and Rudy Guiliani. Two beers and the guy is practically tripping over himself.
