Passed Over

By: Mr. Wilson on April 3, 2007
The Missus tells me that the Hy-Vee at 40th and Old Cheney, usually a reliable source for matzo and other Passover goodies, didn't carry any items for the holiday this year. We didn't host a seder this year, but I could still go for a bowl of matzo ball soup. I know the Sun Mart on South Street usually carries Passover products. Are any other stores carrying Passover goods this year?

We did a potluck seder a few years ago and somebody mentioned either Ideal or Leon’s as a source for some of their ingredients.  Sorry I can’t be more specific but my memory fails me.

Maybe a grocery store near one of the temples (I’m thinking the Sunmart on South Street maybe?) would have some of the stuff you need.

The last time I was at the North 27th St. Hy-Vee (2+ weeks ago), they had a substantial number of Kosher for Passover items set up on tables along the aisle at the rear of the store.

Maybe Hy-Vee forgot to spread them more evenly around town. 😉
