Let There Be a Vote

By: Mr. Wilson on February 9, 2010
After years of discussion, we may know before we go to bed on May 11 whether or not Lincoln will build itself a new arena. May the best choice win.

I fear the worst, but will hope for and vote for the arena. I was online with the LJS live blogging yesterday (why do I punish myself like that?) - and again I think that LJS commenters are just their own special breed. I followed it up by listening to Coby Mach’s show on KLIN. I’m amazed after all the discussion and information that’s been out there so far, how ill informed people still are, and some of the reasons people have for not wanting the arena.

I’m at least thankful that the city’s forefathers (and mothers) and the voters or whoever decided to build Pershing. I think it’s lived a full life, and I hope we have the vision to replace it with something that will last another 50 years for the next phase of the city.

I hope people take advantage of their opportunity to vote!

Let me clarify - I think that there are compelling points that can be made by those opposed to the arena. Sound, logical reasons as to why they think it shouldn’t happen. It’s just that those voices seemed to be lacking at the venues I was at (LJS live blog and Drive Time Lincoln). I’m not implying everyone should just line up to vote yes.

I want to click a “like” button here.  Nicely put, Fletch.  I also participated in yesterday’s live chat.

One of these days that feature will exist. One of these days.

I’m getting really tired of saying that. I should actually do it.

Hey Mr. W - an off-topic question about inlnk.in . I find that when I use the #LNK hashtag it just doesn’t seem to work and get my posts on there. I’m a Twitter newbie - what am I doing wrong?

Fletch -
Are your tweets protected?  Log into your Twitter account, go to settings, scroll to the bottom of the page & make sure the “Protect my tweets” box is unchecked.

If your Twitter account is what I think it is, then Nikkidemas is right. inLNK.in can only pick up unprotected tweets.
