“I’m From Nebraska, But I Hate That Stupid Song”

By: Mr. Wilson on February 13, 2007
By now most of you have heard Ginger ten Bensel's "I Love Nebraska", a country-ish song proposed to replace "Beautiful Nebraska" as Nebraska's state song. Well, not everybody is crazy about "I Love Nebraska", and Neal points to a new parody video that's worth watching.

I saw this on Neal’s blog yesterday and LOVED it. I thought I was the only one who felt icky after listening to the tenBensel version. Glad to hear I am not.

It wasn’t the intent of the song I disliked, or even the lyrics (though they weren’t stellar). This guy hit it on the nose - it is the cheesy Nashville production value that ruins it.

There was nothing wrong with the song we had.  I have fond memories of Robert Manley singing “Beautiful Nebraska.”  The new song was unnecessary.
