I Just Did That!

By: Mr. Wilson on December 9, 2009
I took a gamble last evening. Despite the windy forecast, I went ahead and cleared my driveway and sidewalks. I figured that would make for slightly less work today. Wrong. My sidewalks are completely blown over and I think much of my driveway actually has more snow on it today than yesterday. ::sigh:: I still love snow, though. Isn't this stuff awesome?

Here is my crappy snow story: After leaving work late I ran into a couple whose car was stuck in a drift near downtown. The guy and myself pushed the car out of the drift, but in the process my ring slipped off my finger into the drift (I wasn’t wearing gloves so my hands were all wet). Bye bye ring.

That stinks. Know anybody with a metal detector? I’ll bet it wouldn’t take long to uncover that way.

True. But I don’t know anyone with a metal detector. Anyway, the ring itself wasn’t too expensive (it was a lower karat white gold band), it just had a lot of sentimental value.

We shoveled 3 times yesterday… and there was more out there today than yesterday.  Yuck… yuck… and more yuck…

I lost my ring putting up Christmas lights this year. I went to Target and bought a kid’s metal detector ($15). It took a little effort, but I found it.

Can’t hurt to buy one and see what happens.

That cheap eh? Wish I had known earlier. Unfortunately I am leaving town tomorrow at like 5:30 am in the morning and won’t be back for a while.

That stinks, Mr. T. I guess if there’s any silver lining, it’s that you lost it while being a nice guy and helping other people.

Where exactly did you lose it?  Maybe you could tweet a lost & found alert to #LNKites.

Nikkidemas - Do you know where pinnacle bank is in downtown by the city library? My ring fell off into a drift exactly where 14th street meets the alley directly south of pinnacle bank. With all the plowing that has occurred since then, its probably somewhere in one of the drifts on the right hand side of the street near the bank.

I’ve pretty much written it off. It will be a miracle if I can find it again.
