Sheesh, there are a LOT of new restaurants coming to Lincoln right now. I haven't been able to keep up. Fortunately beerorkid has a little writeup of Honest Abe's Burgers & Freedom, a GUP family restaurant. Sounds like the sort of place a fan of burgers and wry wit might enjoy.

I would put them right in the same category as HF Crave with quality and price. I am normally a bacon and cheese only kind of guy, but I wanted to get the full experience of one of their signature burgers. I usually dip my fries in salt, but they were so good on their own.
Theresa noticed that none of their burgers had mustard as an ingredient and we saw no mustard, salt, or pepper at the condiment area. They do have yellow mustard available behind the counter. I would guess that awesome sauce ond other sauces for the burgers eliminates the need for mustard though.
An herbed mayo dipping sauce came with our order. Not sure if it was for the fries or rings, but it was good.
I’m intrigued by the fries and rings since they are made on the spot, rather than your generic flash frozen industrial type fries/rings that the vast majority of places have. That in itself warrants a visit. Same with the herbed mayo dipping sauce.
I wish more places would do curry dusted fries like the Amsterdam falafel guys in Omaha. Or just have curry seasoning available as an option for fries/rings.
