Drunker Than We Used To Be II

By: Mr. Wilson on January 5, 2010
Although we didn't keep up with the breakneck pace from the first half of the year, Lincoln still set a record for drunk driving arrests this year. In fact, generally speaking the number of DUI arrests increased fairly substantially throughout the past decade. DUI is one of those crimes I don't fully understand. With just a little preparation and/or willpower, it's a mostly preventable offense. And it's not like ignorance of the law is a factor; advertising is saturated with anti-DUI messages. Everybody knows the potential consequences of driving while impaired. Regardless of the reasons for the climb in DUI arrest rates, it's a trend I would love to see be reversed. Preferably the pressure to reverse the trend would come from society itself changing its attitudes about alcohol, not from cops or politicians. A guy can hope.

I give quite a few people rides home from the bars.  We are out and about most of the night anyhow.  It is so much cheaper to just call and get a ride…than to get busted, go through court, no license for who knows how long, higher car insurance.  Let alone the possibility of killing yourself or someone in a crosswalk.  Just call…it is cheap.  You can look us up on the cell phone.  Or call a friend…really they would love to give you a ride home verses giving you rides for years after a DUI conviction.

I’ve wanted for a long time to start a business that would curb this problem. It’s a company that I would call “Drive your drunk a$$ home Inc.” The name is up for change, but the idea is that we could come pick people up and drive them home in their own cars.

See, rides home are nice, but if you get a taxi, or a ride, you have to get another one in the morning to go back and get your car again.

This is a service I would use, cause its convienient. Any investers interested 😊
