#DYK in August, butterflies are plentiful as they seek out food sources amongst the blooming prairie plants. Thousands of swallowtails, painted ladys, monarchs, & numerous other butterfly species complete their life cycle in the native prairies of NE.

South 70th Street b/w Rokeby and Saltillo roads is now closed for a roundabout and watermain installation project.

This project will expand water services to the area and enhance access to Standing Bear High School, which is currently under construction.

Crash Reconstruction investigators have completed their work at the scene & all streets have reopened for regular traffic.
LPD urges anyone with info or video from this crash to call 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.

The SUV came to rest on its roof w/the driver, a 47-year-old female from Lincoln, trapped inside. LFR were able to remove her & provide aid. She was transported to the hospital w/serious injuries. No other individuals involved received injuries requiring hospitalization.

LPD investigating a 3 vehicle crash, occurred on 1st & Cornhusker at 12:07 p.m. Investigation determined a red SUV SB on N 1st & ran the red @ Cornhusker. The SUV was then struck by a blue pickup EB on Cornhusker. The collision caused the SUV to roll & land on a black SUV.

Get registered for the Herbal Festival from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, August 13, at the Pioneers Park Nature Center. The festival will offer refreshments, garden tour and classes on herbal tincture and tea drying. $40/person. Preregistration required. #LNK
