Goal Pt. 5

France: Thank you for helping us liberate our nation from colonialist England 200 years ago. Now, please help the entire world and free us from the tyranny of egotistical Brazilian World Cup buffoonery.
As for you England: I hope you are crushed by Portugal.
Communication Update:
Yes Zidane: the smiling, soccer-ball, yoda-dude creature is talking to YOU. And he wants YOU to help beat those punk-ass Brazilians tomorrow.

Two excellent matches yesterday. I can’t believe France outplayed Brazil the way they did for the middle 60 minutes of the match. They have to be considered a slight favorite to win it now. I won’t complain if they do, they would certainly deserve it. I can’t think of a better way for one of the top five all-time greats to go out.
I predicted before the tournament (in all my tournament predictions, including here) that Rooney would do something stupid and get thrown out of an important match. Lo and behold, he did. But they actually played better a man down. I think they played better because Beckham was out of the game, but that’s just what I think.
Looking ahead, you have to pick France over Portugal, even though Portugal is returning two of their best players from suspension. I’m going to go with the hosts over Italy, though deep down I think that match is a toss-up and will probably be decided by kicks.
I can’t wait. This will be historic.

I am really glad both England and Brazil finally got the boot. I won’t say either were overrated teams when you loot at the players individually, but for their collective talent, the lack of performance was pathetic. Watching Ronaldo try and dive for a foul was laughable. And despite what he does in Barcelona, Ronaldinho was the most-hyped nothing of the tournament. As for England, who do they think they are? Just because they had more legions of drunkards following them around Europe breaking things than other countries didn’t entitle them to anything.
I like Germany and France right now, and I agree with Dave K, it could be the final. In my opinion, Germany has proven to be the biggest, fastest, strongest and smartest team of the tournament. Unlike France or Italy, they have been consistently outstanding and are the team to beat. However, I would love and want to see the French take it this time.
