Contrary to my earlier statement, It was just announced that England’s best striker is back in the game. This could mean that England, which is in a relatively soft bracket, will definitely make it into the final 16.
What I’d like to see: Ecuador win over England into the quarters.
What will likely happen: Germany win over England into the quarters.
And those are the easy groups.

Rooney or no Rooney, they were going to get out of group play. They do well to not have to start Shawn Bradley, I mean Peter Crouch, at forward. Whether or not Rooney is effective remains to be seen, but it’s not like they’re finished without him. Chances are he’d yellow or red card his way out of a later-stage game anyways.
