Went to Ali Baba’s this week for the first time in eight years. Weird how the menu is remarkably similar between it and the Gourmet Grill. Ali Baba’s offers a more extensive menu though, which was surprising. I think the next time I go I’ll try the tandoori chicken.

Anybody here a regular and have a menu suggestion for Ali Baba’s?

A co-worker suggests requesting the “shaky shaky” seasoning. I’ll definitely do that next time.

Foxspit I go there regularly, but usually tend to get the same things - gyros or the outstanding chicken kabob meal (with tandoori seasoning on the kabob). I posted some thoughts about Ali’s and the Gourmet Grill a while ago:

I am not sure if Ali’s still uses “Grecian Delight” and Gourmet Grill uses “Kronos” but before I have just asked them and that is what they have said. Usually they are pretty surprised when you ask a question like that: “WTF how does this guy know about gyro meat brands?”

I tried the “tandoori chicken” there before and it was basically a quarter piece of dark meat that they bake the hell out of with some light tandoori seasoning on it. It is not what you expect if you are used to the tandoori chicken you typically find in Indian or Pakistani places.

I saw someone order the chicken kabob while I was there, think I’ll give it a try.
