I’m looking for recommendations for a caterer for a small event at a house (20 people). Has to be classy, good at presentation, etc (aka, not davinci’s).

I’m running out of ideas....

Have you contacted Hy-Vee yet?

Just kidding. There are a number of caterers in town who do good, fairly standard lunch jobs (sandwiches. pasta salads, etc.). The best spread I have ever been to was at an event that Billy from Billy’s catered.

Roost caters. I can’t vouch for them since they just opened, but they seem to run a good business.

Also, I think Krem is catering-only these days.

Wonder if bread and cup offers such a service.
Really liking that place.

If you have a large budget you should consider Hillis and Company.  They are about as classy as it comes in this city.  Otherwise I have seen Hy-Vee put some nice things together.

I’d try contacting Travis the owner of Dish restaurant downtown and see if he’d be willing to do it.  I don’t think it’s something they do on a regular basis but I know he’s done some small catering in the past.

Hillis all the way!  They are THE BEST.  If the chef at Dish would do it, I would agree that he would be excellent to ask.  If Blue Orchid caters, they would also be good to approach.  I must disagree with an earlier poster who suggested Billy’s.  Not a good choice at all.  Terrible food (sorry to say, but I must say it).
