The new “China Wall” restaurant is open and we gave it a try yesterday. It is the shopping area at 84th and Highway 2 next to Backyard Burgers.
The food was very good but also appears to be the same as Zhangs (West A and Coddington) and Great Wall (70th and Vine). Does anyone know if this is the same group of folks? The colors and style of the setup are very similar.
It could be the same style of cooking. Many Chinese ingredients aren’t available in the United States, too - so there tends to be a kind of “sameness” to many Chinese cafes nationwide. I would like to see a REAL Sichuan cafe opened in Lincoln that uses Sichuan peppers, and other ingredients that are available here, but seldom used. It might drive the price up higher (Chinese tend to be pretty cut throat about pricing too, and do not care to price more than their competition), but I would really enjoy to eat the Sichaun style of Chicken Kung Pau, rather than the Americanized version…
