Having downloaded and installed both Firefox 2.0 and Internet Explorer 7.0, I have a quick recommendation: upgrade to FF2, but skip IE7 for now. FF2 is faster and more stable. The only reason not to upgrade is if you have extensions you can’t live without, because many extensions aren’t compatible with FF2 yet. IE7, on the other hand, was a bit of a disappointment. It’s better than IE6 to be sure, but I think a 7.0.1 might be needed to fix a few quirks.

FF2 all the way! I love spell check. Plus there’s the can’t live without extensions.

Although… I have have been using Opera a bit more lately. I wish it had a bit more options for the feeds, but I’m really liking the tiling feature and built in BitTorrent.

So, what extensions do you use for FF? Here’s my list:

Foxmarks Bookmarks Synchronizer (for work and home)
IE Tab (for testing without having to open the dreaded IE)
NextPlease (for armchair websurfing)
Performancing (Blog publishing)
StumbleUpon (for bored times)
Stylish (because MySpace and TorrentSpy have too many Ads)
Web Developer (I wish this worked in conjunction with the IE tab)
Wizz RSS
Zotero (Research tool - way cool)

A few weeks later and I’m still impressed with Firefox 2.0. It has proven very stable and, in my opinion, faster than earlier versions. Firefox 3, due within six months (last I heard), should be even better. I can’t wait.
