Help! I’m looking for a place to host a birthday party for 50. Not for a dinner, but a “reception” style party where I can order some food for everyone (appetizers, pizzas, etc.) or they can order a meal if they want to. Maybe something like Brewsky’s, but they are booked already. Downtown/haymarket preferred. Must have bar and food. Would really like separate room or seating area. I thought Lincoln was full of places like this, but I’m having trouble finding one! Thanks for any suggestions.

Weak praise, I know, but in the current climate it’s not out of the question to think it could get him elected.

Has anyone tried this online game?

Beside shooting blood everywhere and doing quests for others, talking to monsters that I’ll never find in real life ... I found this game interesting for surviving ( although are lot’s of topics to be covered ).

A difference from Wikipedia ( you only have content ) this game kind of force you to read about topics / ideas / concepts ( learning without knowing it )

Idea of the game: Win credits for solving questions and use the credits to post your own questions for other users to solve!

Take a look around you can find the concept useful for you.

About a year ago, I decided to sign up for Dish Network. I recall speaking with the salesperson Charles, who told me I could get discounted service after submitting a rebate. On the contract, it stated that the discount would only apply for ten months, and then it would increase to a normal fee. I was not told this by phone, and was under the impression that it the discounted price would extend through the contract term. Nevertheless, I should have read the contract, especially considering that I have been in the legal field for awhile. I also found out that the Dish Network does not provide insurance for “Acts of God” that affect the equipment, so if your homeowners insurance does not cover it, you are in big trouble (a hefty amount). Again, it was in the fine print. I have no real problems with any of the above, except that I feel the company above is a little shady. Maybe a verbal bait-and-switch deal, but I did sign the contract. My mistake still. Buyer Beware.

What I had a real problem with was Charles at All Digital Solutions. When I contacted him to ask questions about the above, he became very irate. He stated “lets cut to the chase.” When I said I wanted to “cut to the chase” and address my concerns, he stated I was not making him any money, AND HE HUNG UP ON ME. This was so incredible, I am still shocked. This man was so unprofessional, and showed such a lack of good customer service skills, I would recommend that people avoid doing any business with him or his company.

I give this 5 stars. It was a fun place to go, and was affordable to everyone. Yes, the movies were older, but it was nice to be able to see them on the big screen. It made going downtown affordable for most of us hard-pressed overtaxed lower class folks.

Thank god almighty the city of Lincoln saw to it that it was torn down.

Just had a horrible experience with Nebraska Orthopaedic Center and thought I would see if anyone has anything to say about it.

I am tired of the medical clinic shuffle. As a patient I show up ten minutes early for my appointment. Twenty minutes later they show me to an exam room. Then the first nurse asks me all the same questions they asked the last time I was there which was only a week ago. Then I wait another twenty minutes and stick my head out of the room and ask when the doctor is coming. There is a guy there who says he is the doctors physician assistant and he will be in shortly. He then is offended when I say I have not been waiting this long to see an assistant. Then I wait a while longer and the doctor comes in and says that he won’t see me because I have broken their protocol.

Is anyone else tired of doctors acting like we have no choices. They act like they are paying for my time instead of the other way around.

Are there any Lincoln practices who don’t fit this mold?

Have kids? Here are a few nice places to visit in Lincoln with them:

The Lincoln Children’s Zoo--small but well-tended and well-curated. Award-winning.
The Children’s Museum--a cacophony of sounds and a barrage of colors. Activities galore for young children.
Morrill Hall on UNL’s City Campus (aka the University of Nebraska State Museum)--mammoths, dinosaurs and lots more.
The Sunken Garden--a beautiful thing to have at a busy intersection; a peaceful, beautiful place.
The Rose Garden (will open in summer 2008)--promises to be another great addition to the 27th and Normal intersection.
Any Lincoln City public library branch--we have an excellent public library system; very child-friendly.
The Tractor Museum on UNL’s East Campus--rustic, but really a big hit with little boys (and some little girls, of course).
The Pioneers Park Nature Center--a sprawling area in the park offering two wonderful buildings full of displays and interactives, and great trails for getting away from the feel of the city.
The SAC Museum (between Lincoln and Omaha on I-80)--displaying a huge collection of real military aircraft, with histories.
